Abstract

Immunologic factors play the most important part in idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Viral agents also cause the disease by this way. Human parvovirus B19 has been shown to play a part as a viral etiologic agent in thrombocytopenia. In the present study, 29 idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura patients were examined. Parvovirus B19 IgM was present in 4 of 29 patients (13.7%) and parvovirus B19 IgG positivity in 13 (44.8%). In the control group parvovirus B19 IgG pozitivity was 43 %. In 4 patients with parvovirus B19 IgM pozitivity relapse and chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura was not observed after treatment. Nine patients with negative parvovirus B19 IgM developed chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura in the follow-up period. With respect to their response to treatment, the rate of development a chronic situation, in patients with parvovirus B19 IgM pozitivity was significantly less than those with parvovirus B19 IgM negativity. As a result, the positivity of parvovirus B19 observed in our idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura patients was correlated with similar studies, and it was emphasized that parvovirus B19 had a role 50 that idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura caused by parvovirus B19 gave better response to treatment.

Kontrol grubunda da benzer s?kl?kta parvovirus IgG (+)'li?i saptand? (%43). Parvovirus B19 IgM (+) bulunan 4 hastada tedavi sonras? n?ks ve kronikle?me g?zlenmedi. Parvovirus B1 9 IgM (-) olan 9 hasta kronikle?ti. Tedavi yan?tlar?nda parvovirus B19 IgM (+) olanlarda kronikle?me oran?, parvovirus B19 IgM (-) olan vakalara g?re anlaml? derecede daha d???k bulundu. Parvovirus B19 IgM (+) ve parvovirus B19 IgM (-) hastalar aras?nda tedavi s?resi bak?m?ndan anlaml? fark saptanmad? (p> 0.05). Sonu? olarak ?al??mam?zda idyopatik trombositopenik purpural? hastalar?m?zda elde edilen parvovirus B19 pozitifli?i benzer ?al??malarla korelasyon g?stermi? olup, parvovirus B19'un idyopatik trombositopenik purpura etyolojisindeki rol? ve tedaviye daha iyi cevap verdi?i vurgulanm??t?r.
